Family Bike Rental

The Bike Train Family Bike Rental is a unique partnership with Bike Train PDX and Sellwood Cycles. The idea is to promote new families to try out biking to school without having to make a large initial investment. The program also aims to connect people who are new to biking to school with bike trains and other families that have more experience. If successful we hope to expand the program to more shops around the city.

The family bike rental is free and there is no liability for stolen or broken bikes on the part of those renting them.

Fill out this form or email biketrainpdx@gmail.com to put your name on the wait list.

Once you are next on the list you will receive an email from biketrainpdx when the bikes have been returned and are ready for check out. The email will give you instructions on when to go to Sellwood Cycles to pick up the bikes. The bikes come with a car rack so you can pick them up in your car. Just make sure you have room for the child carrier. At Sellwood Cycles you will have to leave your credit card info and anyone over 18 who will be riding a bike will need to sign a waiver.

If one of these bikes is not the right size there is the possibility that Sellwood Cycles would be able to loan you a different sized bike. But this is based on the availability of bikes at Sellwood.

Sellwood Cycles is located at 7953 SE 13th Ave Portland, OR 97202
